First tanker for liquefied natural gas carrying from Angola LNG (Sambizanga)

 

The Angola LNG shareholders announce the arrival of the first tanker for liquefied natural gas carrying from Angola LNG (Sambizanga), the location of the export terminal for LNG plant, which will perform preliminary tests of mooring and connection system shipment of LNG (integrated testing program in general start of the plant).

 

The introduction of the feed gas in the LNG plant took place on March 15, 2012, as part of the test equipment. Will follow the testing and commissioning of the units of liquefaction, with the production of LNG planned to have its beginning in the late second quarter of 2012.

 

The plant, whose construction was recently completed, is located in Soyo, Zaire province. Services operations and maintenance will be provided to the Angola LNG by two companies, namely: OPCO – SOCIEDADE

OPERACIONAL ANGOL LNG, S.A e a SOMG – SOCIEDADE DE OPERAÇÕES E MANUTENÇÃO DE GASODUTOS. Both are companies limited by shares incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Angola.

 

The investors in the Angola LNG project and the shareholders of Angola LNG Limited, the OPCO and SOMG are Sonangol Gás Natural, Limitada (22.8%), the Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (36.4%), BP Exploration (Angola) Limited (13.6%), ENI Angola Production BV (13.6%) and Total Angola LNG Limited (13.6%).
