The conduct of business in a professional manner and the provision of protection to workers and infrastructure, in case of aggression, unrest or civil disturbance is one of the objectives of Sonangol.

Exposure to violence, blackmail, kidnapping or civil unrest are all possible events our workers can be exposed to or involved in.

Although personal security is the responsibility of every worker, the policy of worker safety recognizes the need for the company to provide support for individual efforts at ensuring safety in high-risk locations.

The policy consists of the following actions:

• Directives provided to all our workers and their families regarding personal safety.
• Evaluation of potential dangerous situations.
• Definition of the level of risk and the auditing of security concerns, if necessary, by an outside firm.
• Preparation of adequate protection and evacuation plans.
• Coordinated response in the case of security-related incidents.
